
1995. 9 : Honda announced the release of the Honda DC2 Integra type R that
features enhanced driving performance. Type-R stands for Racing. The Honda
Integra type R is powered by the B18C 1.8 liter DOHC VTEC engine, specifically
developed for the Honda Integra type-R, with 200 horsepower at 8000rpm
(111PS/liter). The 4 door hard-top and the 3 door coupe are available.
Standard equipment includes a Helical LSD, performance rods, hard type
suspension, a front lip spoiler, a rear spoiler, alloy wheels, a leather
wrapped MOMO steering wheel, RECARO seats, and a titanium shift knob.
1998. 1 : There were some minor changes. To enable
the higher torque at low and mid rpm levels, exhaust performance has been
improved by employing the equal-length 4-in-1 style stainless steel exhaust
manifold. And suspension and brakes have been improved to maximize driving
performance and handling. Tire size is increased to 215/45ZR16. Furthermore, the
Integra type R 98 Spec adopts 15-inch front disk brakes, 14-inch rear disk
brakes, newly designed 5-hole 16-inch alloy wheels, completely retuned
suspension, SRS airbag-compatible steering wheel designed by MOMO, High
Intensity Discharge (HID) headlights with twice the brightness of halogen
lamps.
1999.7 : The serial number stamp which shows the order of manufacture is
started.
